Some of Our Work

Here are some examples of items we have made to sell at Fairs or Shows, for family and friends or just for fun.

Garden Bench – We are frequently asked to refurbish garden furniture which has passed its best. The photograph shows Phil testing a garden bench he has restored with new wooden slats, which is now good for another 20 years, unlike Phil.

Splat the Rat Game – Here is a game we made for a customer, that you should see at the May Fayre. It was a lot of fun to make and we are open to creating more on request.

Below is a Victorian Style Bench, with red resin inserts into a cast iron back panel. We undertook a complete renovation of this unique piece of garden furniture on behalf of a local resident, who was overjoyed at the end result.

Tombola Drum – This was made specifically for the local Masons’ Lodge for their fundraising events. A similar drum can be made for other groups to their own specifications.

Flowerpot Men – Working “Shoulder to Shoulder” is the unofficial motto of the Yateley Shed. Here are a group of Flowerpot Men upholding this moto before they were sold to decorate the gardens of Yateley.

Shoe Caddie – Keep up to 12 pairs of muddy boots and trainers under control with our Shoe Caddie. They come in various sizes to suite the space available, and can be stacked together to create greater storage. The caddies come painted to your own specification, and are a great way of saving space and teaching the kids to be tidier.

Christmas Tea Light Holder – this is one of the many types of tea light holders sold at the Christmas Fair. LED safety lights were included in the price.

Mr & Mrs Snowman – a Christmas gift idea made from Birch logs recovered from Yateley Green.

Christmas Rustic Coasters – a unique Christmas gift idea handcrafted by Yateley Men’s Shed from branches fallen in the town after a storm.

Hardwood Coasters – made by a Shedder from offcuts of timber left over from a previous project. Bigger offcuts have also been crafted in kitchen boards to match.

Bird Table – the ever popular wild bird feeder, is the Shed’s most sought after item at fairs and shows. It is constructed using recycled timber, from a template designed by an original member and comes in a variety of colours and finishes. It is also the first item made by many new Shedders in making gifts for family or practicing their carpentry skills.

Connect Four – This is a half-size version of the popular children’s game that was constructed specifically for a disabled child with limited mobility. We have also made a full-size version which is rolled out at shows we attend to amuse the young and old alike.

.

Boot Holders – designed to keep muddy footwear tidy and easier to dry.

Cat House – for the feline who likes their own place in the garden. We have also made Dog Kennels and Hedgehog Houses.

School Notice Boards – this one was made to the school’s specification with lockable, Perspex fronted cabinets and custom engraved signage.

Ceramic & Glass Mosaics – one of our members specialises in creating these decorative and stunning table pieces. They can be made to order to match existing decorations and make unique and treasured gifts.

Garden Planters – these very popular items come in a number of sizes and colours, or can be made to order to fit an exact location, something even Redfield’s cannot match. All are fitted with a plastic lining to preserve moisture, and have the option of a built in trellis for climbing plants. We have also been known to engrave names on the front to create gifts or memorials. A new development is to incorporate an electrified barrier to deter slugs and snails.

Rustic Wedding Accessories – the current popularity of “Barnyard Chic” items at summer weddings is catered for by the members of Yateley Men’s Shed with this imposing Card Chest. It was made in solid wood with ironwork decorations and features engraved signage. We have also made Order of Service Boards and Table Plans, all to a delightful farmyard design.

Christmas Gifts – Available at the Christmas Market 25th November 2024, outside the Dog & Partridge.
